Teacher Frustrations
Hi. I'm Ria, second year public school teacher. Right now I feel like the kitty in this picture, looking up for help, trying to figure it all out, leaning on a wing and a prayer. If you know anything about teaching you will agree with me when I say that it is nothing like I imagined. I was hoping to be Ron Clark or Michelle Phifer from the movie, Dangerous Minds or something to that effect, but, I'm not. I'm just me, a young woman trying to figure it all out. I love teaching, but it is agonizing , it is difficult , it is loud, it is disrespectful, it is undeserving, it is underpaying, and sometimes, it is belittling. I would just like someone to explain like really explain how to get kids under control. I teach middle school in a Title 1 urban area. At the end of day I'm exhausted. I did not mention the mice and roach issue. I'm so tired of hearing build relationships. This means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. And for crying out...
